Set Your Expectations: This Is a Moisture Bar, Not a Bubble Bar

Most bar soap — including the rest of our lineup — blends shea butter with coconut oil for big, foamy lather. This bar skips that on purpose. Shea butter on its own produces a light, creamy lather instead of a fluffy one, because it's built to condition skin, not maximize suds. If you're used to a bar that foams up fast, this one will feel different — and that's by design, not a flaw. What it gives up in lather, it makes up for in how your skin feels after: soft, cushioned, never tight or stripped.

Why 100% Shea Butter, and Why It's Different

• Naturally rich in fatty acids — shea butter is made up mostly of stearic and oleic acid, the same conditioning compounds that make it a go-to skin moisturizer on its own.
• The good stuff survives the soap-making process — a portion of shea butter (its "unsaponifiable" fraction) doesn't fully convert during saponification, so real conditioning compounds carry through into the finished bar instead of washing away with the lather.
• Gentle by simplicity — fewer ingredients means fewer things that could ever bother your skin. No coconut oil, no palm oil, no fragrance, no essential oils, no clay, no colorant.

The Details

• Ingredients (all three of them): Shea Butter, Water, Sodium Hydroxide (lye).
• About the lye: Lye is required to turn oil into soap — it's how all real soap is made. Through saponification, it fully converts into soap and glycerin; none remains in the finished bar.
